Inventory Adjustment — main screen

What Inventory Adjustment does inside ERPS X

Inventory Adjustment is the application your warehouse uses to make the system agree with reality. Pick a product, and ERPS shows the On Hand quantity it believes you have. You enter the Counted Quantity, the Difference is calculated, and you post. Stock is corrected immediately.

Every adjustment carries a Schedule Date and the User responsible, so counts can be planned ahead and traced afterwards. Because each product in ERPS has its own difference account, the value of a shortage or surplus lands in Accounting without a second entry from finance.

Scrap Orders sit alongside adjustments in the same Inventory menu. When goods are damaged, expired, or otherwise unsellable, a scrap order removes them from stock with a reason, and the movement shows up in Product Moves like any other transaction.

Everything Inventory Adjustment gives your team

Each feature below is part of the application as it ships in your ERPS X workspace — no add-ons, no separate licences.

Count against on hand

Select a product and ERPS pre-fills the current on-hand quantity and unit of measure. Type the counted figure; the difference is worked out for you.

Scheduled adjustments

Set a schedule date for each count so cycle counts and period-end counts are planned, not improvised.

Responsible user

Every adjustment records the user who performed it, giving you a clear owner for each correction.

Scrap orders

Write off damaged, expired, or lost items through a dedicated scrap order that reduces stock and records why.

Product Moves trail

Adjustments and scraps appear in the Product Moves report next to receipts, deliveries, and sales for a full movement history.

Posts to Accounting

The value of each difference flows to the difference account configured on the product, so books and stock stay aligned.

The Inventory Adjustment workflow

From first setup to daily use — the path your team follows inside the application.

1
Plan the count

Open New Inventory Adjustment, choose the product, and set the schedule date and user.

2
Count the stock

Physically count the shelf or bin. Enter the counted quantity against the on-hand figure shown.

3
Review the difference

ERPS shows the variance per line. Recount if the gap looks wrong before saving.

4
Post the adjustment

Save. On-hand stock is corrected and the difference value posts to the product's difference account.

5
Scrap where needed

For damaged or expired goods, raise a Scrap Order instead so the reason is kept with the movement.

Where teams use Inventory Adjustment every day

Inventory Adjustment — common questions

What exactly does an adjustment record?
The product, its unit of measure, the On Hand quantity at the time, the Counted Quantity you enter, the calculated Difference, a Schedule Date, and the User responsible.
Does the adjustment affect Accounting?
Yes. Each product in ERPS has a difference account configured on its record. When an adjustment posts, the value of the variance is booked there, so finance does not re-key it.
What is the difference between an adjustment and a scrap order?
An adjustment corrects a count to match reality. A scrap order deliberately removes goods that are damaged, expired, or lost. Both reduce or correct stock and appear in Product Moves; scrap keeps the reason with the record.
Who can post adjustments?
Users whose department access includes the Adjustments application and who hold Editor or Full Access rights. Others can view the list.
Can I schedule counts in advance?
Yes. Each adjustment carries a schedule date, so you can create the record ahead of the count and complete the counted quantity on the day.
