What Bills of Material does inside ERPS X
Bills of Material is where the Manufacturing department of ERPS X ERPS defines the recipe for each product. A BoM names the product to be made, the quantity the recipe produces, a reference, and its component lines — each component with a quantity and unit of measure drawn from the shared Products catalog.
Two BoM types cover the common cases. Manufacture This Product is used when a Manufacturing Order will consume the components and produce finished stock. Kit describes a product that is a bundle of its components. A flexible consumption setting — Allowed, Allowed With Warning, or Blocked — states whether the shop floor may deviate from the listed quantities when an order is processed.
When a Manufacturing Order is created for a product, its BoM is selected and the components to consume are loaded automatically. Because components are Products with a cost and on-hand quantity, Production Analysis can report components per unit and cost per unit for every order that used the BoM.
